Radiolog(y)
This one-act monodrama was developed through a workshop with Naghmeh Samini in university of Tehran. All students were given a chance to do a stage reading of their plays in one day. This event takes place each year under the name “Mono Carnival.” Samini chose the theme passivity because of this common element among all the plays written by her students. Due to positive feedback, the students were invited to bring their plays to stage in Av Theater on June 2014.
Radiolog(y) is about a man who is imprisoned in his safe, private space. His daily routine tasks are dictated and controlled by the voice of a moderator from a radio. He remains silent throughout the performance, and all his actions on stage are directed by the moderator.
In 2016 Naghmeh Samini chose Radiolog(y) together with four other pieces from the whole eight series of Mono Carnivals for a repertoire. These five monodramas were performed in Moje Noe theater in September 2016 in Tehran.
